This 2020 VE-Day Victory £2 coin was issued by The Royal Mint to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day on 8 May 1945. Designed by Dominique Evans, the reverse features a jubilant crowd celebrating the end of World War II, with the inscription “VICTORY IN EUROPE DAY” and the dates “1945 – 2020.” The obverse bears Jody Clark’s fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Struck to Brilliant Uncirculated standard, this coin was not released into general circulation.
