What Are Organic Chickpeas?

Originally cultivated in the Mediterranean and the Middle East, chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, have spread their culinary influence to areas all over the world.

They are featured prominently in Italian, Greek, Indian, Middle Eastern, Spanish and Portuguese cuisine. Though the most common type of chickpea appears round and beige, other varieties include colours such as black, green, and red.

Chickpeas are high in protein & rich source of fibre. To Cook: Soak in water overnight, Drain and rinse. Add to a pan. Cover with water and boil for 20-25 minutes for firmer beans of 40-45 minutes for softer beans. Great in curries and are the main ingredient for making hummus and falafels

Store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat and damp.
