The 2024 vintage started with a wet winter, yet quickly transitioned into a hot spring and summer. Budding, followed by significant rainfall and mild temperatures caused an outbreak of mildew in the vineyard, which was controlled by treatments and leaf removal. Despite the high temperatures, July was fresh and created balance in the development of bunches. Harvest began on the 30th of August with the Albariño and concluded on the 23rd September with the Caíño Blanco.
The grapes were hand harvested by variety using 20kg crates, followed by a hand selection process on sorting tables upon arrival at the winery. Each variety underwent cryo-maceration and was fermented separately in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Each variety was vinified separately and, after a short period of lees ageing, the blend was carefully assembled to produce the distinctive Santiago Ruiz style.
