Following its launch in 1959 the classic Mini was soon on its way to becoming a global icon especially after partnering with Cooper in the early 60’s to develop the fabled Cooper & Cooper S variants. Not long after the Cooper S’s release it was entered in the Monte Carlo Rallye which sensationally it won in 1964 & 65. Production of the classic Mini continued until 2000 when the last one rolled off the production line however this was swiftly followed by the new generation BMW Mini which launched in the same year. Scorpion have been producing performance exhausts for the classic and new generation Mini’s for over 30 years, so it was natural that we became chief technical partner with the increasingly popular Mini Challenge race series ensuring true track to road technology transfer for our products. 

Constructed from premium grade 304 stainless steel, the new cat back systems have been developed in partnership with the increasingly popular Mini Challenge series as a direct replacement of the more restrictive OEM systems. The non-resonated R56, R57, R58 & R59 system features 70mm pipework, a non-resonated centre section, acoustically refined rear silencer and can be tailored with your choice of tailpipe. We currently offer 90mm Daytona polished, Daytona black ceramic, Ascari carbon-fibre and Monaco polished or black ceramic tailpipes.

The new professionally hand-built systems have been designed to improve on power by increasing gas flow and perfectly balancing back pressure. As well as advancing power, drivers will notice a sharper throttle response. With only the highest quality materials used in development and motorsport-based knowledge built from over 20 years’ experience in high-end race series, the cat back systems emit a stunning exhaust tone that is deeper than the original and emits a of sound pure quality.

Both options fit with the OEM and Scorpion downpipe.
