Terre di Altamura Chickpeas are naturally rich in many healthy nutrients.

Cultivated in the south of Italy, this Chickpeas are a nutrient-dense food, providing rich content of protein, dietary fibre, folate and minerals such as iron and phosphorus. 

The chickpea plant is very ancient and comes from the East, where it successively spread to the Mediterranean. 

Important in Indian, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, chickpeas are a key ingredient in hummus and can be ground into a flour to make falafel.

They are also used in salads, soups, stews and curry.

Over 200 small farms work under the Terre di Altamura brand, collectively contributing in delivering high quality beans and pulses cultivated in Apulia, south of Italy, with love, passion and care.

Our recommendation: 

Soak the chickpeas overnight.

Discard the soaking water, then immerse them in a saucepan and cover with cold, unsalted water,

(3 parts of water for 1 part of chickpeas).

Bring to boil, then cook for 1 hour – 1.30 minutes on low heat, skimming regularly until the grains become tender.

Drain and add them to your cous cous, salads and any of your favourite dishes!

Directions of use:

Store in a cool dry place.
