ABOUT THE ARTIST
"Photography has always been a passion, whether it’s picking my way through old family albums of saturated, grainy captures or taking terrible flash shots on a disposable camera. I’m fascinated by moments frozen in time in beautiful photographic memory. Even those gritty, dark, less aesthetically pleasing instances. The inspiration for my images doesn’t stem from other car imagery, or even the car itself. I’m inspired by TV programs like Life on Mars, vintage film photographs that were captured not as art, but as a means to tell a story and the works of artists such as Tish Martha, Berndt & Hilla Becker and Martin Parr to name a few. In my images I aim to capture the atmosphere of the moment so that when the photograph is viewed by again that person feels every ounce of emotion that I did taking the shot."

ABOUT THIS COMMISSION
Captured by Abby Bowers, the E24 BMW 635 CSi is the first generation of BMW's 6-Series range of grand tourers. This model type was produced from 1976 to 1989 and was replaced by the BMW E9 coupé. The E24 was available only in a 2-door coupé body style and was powered by a straight-six engine; a modified version of the BMW M30 engine family. The E24 was initially based on the E12 5-Series platform, until it switched to the E28 5-Series platform in 1982.
