The Base Colour Alteration Set gathers the oils you need to shift and enrich a model's main tone. Base-colour alteration is the art of nudging the dominant colour with subtle nuances so a piece reads as more realistic and more engaging — and this boxed set of six Abteilung 502 oils is geared to work over greys, desert yellows, greens and assorted camouflage schemes. It's the exact palette used in Joaquín García Gázquez's book "Mastering Oils 1".
What's in the box
- Six Abteilung 502 artist oil colours selected for altering base tones
- Low-oil, ultra-fine pigment formula for a more matte, controllable finish
- Long working time for blending filters, washes, streaks and fades
A focused, purpose-picked palette for one of the most useful skills in the oils toolkit.
The oils palette built around base-colour alteration. Grab some white spirit to thin them, and browse the rest of the Abteilung 502 range to top up individual tubes.
