Azalea (Rhododendron) Bonsai Tree | Broom | In 15cm Pot

Introduction

Azalea brings compact foliage and the possibility of a colourful seasonal flower display to an outdoor bonsai collection. The broom-style canopy creates a balanced miniature-tree silhouette. It is supplied in an approximately 15cm pot.

About this bonsai

Flower colour and timing vary with the cultivar and growing conditions. Blooms are not guaranteed on delivery. These trees need attentive moisture management and an acidic growing medium.

Position & light

Choose a bright, sheltered outdoor position with morning sun or light partial shade. Protect flowers from strong drying winds and harsh afternoon sun.

Watering

Keep the root ball evenly moist without leaving it waterlogged. Check often in warm weather and water before the soil dries out. Rainwater is preferable where tap water is very hard.

Feeding & pruning

Use an appropriate azalea or acid-loving-plant feed at the recommended rate. Shape after flowering, taking care not to remove the next season’s developing buds. Use a suitable acidic bonsai medium when repotting.

Winter care

Protect the small pot from prolonged hard frost and exposed winds. Keep cool rather than in a heated living room, and continue to check moisture during dry winter weather.

What you'll receive

One Azalea bonsai in the pot described above. A drip tray is not included unless specifically included in a purchased option. Photographs are representative; trunks, branches, foliage and overall shape vary naturally between trees.
