Calla palustris (Bog or Water arum)

Calla palustris, commonly known as bog arum, is a low-growing marginal plant with glossy, heart-shaped dark green leaves that spread gently across wet ground and shallow water. In late spring to early summer, it produces distinctive white spathes surrounding a yellow central spike, creating a clean and striking contrast against the foliage.

This species is particularly valuable in wildlife ponds and bog gardens, where it provides cover for amphibians and insects while contributing to a natural wetland aesthetic. Its creeping habit makes it well suited to pond margins and marshy areas, where it can slowly form attractive colonies.
