Classic Earl Grey

Brisk black tea with fragrant bergamot citrus. A familiar Earl Grey with enough tea character to enjoy black or with a little milk.

Ingredients: Black tea, cornflower petals, natural bergamot flavouring.

How it tastes

Expect brisk black-tea body followed by a bright, orange-peel-like fragrance. Cornflower petals add colour to the dry blend; they are not the declared source of the citrus flavour.

How to brew it

• Tea: 2.5 g—about one teaspoon—per 250 ml
• Water: 100°C
• Time: two to three minutes

Taste at two minutes for a brighter cup. Continue towards three minutes for more black-tea body or if you plan to add a little milk. Remove the leaves promptly.

Milk, lemon and caffeine

Drink it plain to notice the balance first. A small splash of milk softens the brisk edge; lemon sharpens the citrus. Choose one rather than both. Because the base is black tea, this blend naturally contains caffeine.
