Domaine Chêne Mâcon Milly Lamartine 2022

Milly-Lamartine is a gently sloped site in the Mâconnais that sits between 290-380 meters above sea-level. The majority of the vineyard area planted to vine faces South-East, giving excellent exposure to morning sunshine, before becoming cooler in the afternoons as the sun makes its arc to the West. This ensures sun-ripened grapes, but those that avoid the heat-stress of the hottest parts of the day.

Ripe, plump fruit but which retains excellent acidity and a lean character. Domaine Chêne’s Milly-Larmatine is ripe yet fresh, abundant with bright orchard fruits and a lean, textured palate.

Peach and apricot vie with crisp green apple and honeydew melon in the mouth and on the classy long finish, which hints at subtle spice and delicate savoury notes, while retaining the vibrancy of fruit throughout.
