Domaine Merlet La Guerre des Bouchons Rouge 2022

Located in the sunny South of France, Domaine du Peras has been in the same family since 1650 and is now into its tenth generation of family ownership. Located in the Languedoc near Abeilhan, 15 kilometres north of Beziers, the 38 hectare estate of clay and limestone vineyards is managed and owned by Mathieu Merlet. Uniquely, Mathieu's grapes are always harvested at night to maximise freshness and fruitiness.

Domaine du Peras, 'La Guerre des Bouchons' ('The War of the Corks') Rouge 2021 is made from a blend of red grapes the Languedoc does best: Syrah, Merlot and Grenache. Juicy, fruity and supple, it has vibrant notes of raspberry, strawberry and plum which leads onto a velvety, balanced and equally fruity palate. A great pair with cheeses or grilled meats.
