            ABOUT THE ARTIST
Paul Ward has been a professional photographer for over twenty years now and recently won his category at the British Photography Awards 2020. Over the years his work has been published in many books and magazines both in the UK and internationally and his architectural images currently adorn the walls aboard Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2. Paul’s passion for cars started when he bought his first Austin Mini almost 30 years ago and ever since then he has been obsessed with both classic cars and modern supercars, so, as an image-maker, it’s not surprising that automobile photography has become a passion of his too.

            ABOUT THIS COMMISSION
The V12, front engined Ferrari 330 was produced in 2+2 GT Coupé, two-seat Berlinetta, spyder, and race car versions between 1963 and 1968. The name "330" refers to the approximate displacement of each single cylinder in cubic centimetres. Captured here by award-winning Paul Ward at a public event, is a 330 LMB GT racing car (with LMB standing for Le Mans Berlinetta). First presented in March 1963 alongside the mid-engined 250 P, they were essentially a development of the 250 GTO and fitted with the 4-litre 330 engine, here rated at 390 bhp at 7,500 rpm. Although the front is visually similar to the 250 GTO's, the main structure came from the 250 Lusso.

With only four ever produced, the 330 LMB did not see much racing, as Ferrari was moving over to the mid-engined layout for racing. One retired at Sebring 1963, while of three starters at Le Mans that year, two retired and the car of Jack Sears and Mike Salmon came in fifth. After this, the LMB saw no more works entries.
