Genmaicha meaning “brown rice tea”, is a traditional Japanese blend of green tea and roasted rice. Despite the name, our blend is made with white mochi rice, which develops a wonderfully fragrant, nutty character when roasted. The result? A tea that’s warm, cozy, and full of depth. Traditionally, the rice and tea are combined in a 1:1 ratio, often using Bancha leaves. This results in a smooth tasting drink with hints of peanut and popcorn ( or popped rice ).
