Juncus maritimus (Sea rush)

Juncus maritimus, commonly known as Sea Rush, is a robust marginal plant forming dense clumps of stiff, upright dark green stems. Its strong architectural habit makes it ideal for pond margins, wetlands, and naturalistic water features, where it provides height, structure, and a clean, reed-like appearance throughout the year.

Naturally found in coastal and marshland habitats, Sea Rush is highly tolerant of wet soils and exposed conditions. Once established, it requires very little maintenance and contributes to pond health by stabilising margins and providing valuable shelter for aquatic wildlife.
