ABOUT THE ARTIST
"Photography has always been a passion, whether it’s picking my way through old family albums of saturated, grainy captures or taking terrible flash shots on a disposable camera. I’m fascinated by moments frozen in time in beautiful photographic memory. Even those gritty, dark, less aesthetically pleasing instances. The inspiration for my images doesn’t stem from other car imagery, or even the car itself. I’m inspired by TV programs like Life on Mars, vintage film photographs that were captured not as art, but as a means to tell a story and the works of artists such as Tish Martha, Berndt & Hilla Becker and Martin Parr to name a few. In my images I aim to capture the atmosphere of the moment so that when the photograph is viewed by again that person feels every ounce of emotion that I did taking the shot."

ABOUT THIS COMMISSION
Captured by Abby Bowers at Bicester Heritage, the Porsche 718 was a series of one- or two-seat sports-racing cars built by Porsche from 1957 to 1962. An open-wheel single-seat model was developed for Formula racing. The 718 was a development of the successful Porsche 550A with improvements made to the bodywork and suspension. The car's full name is 718 RSK, where "RS" stands for RennSport (sports-racing) and the "K" reflects the shape of the car's revised torsion-bar suspension. It had a mid-engined layout and used the 1.5-litre Type 547/3 quad-cam engine that was first utilised in the 550A. This wall art is available on a limited run of 100 prints, ever, and is available in a range of print-only, framed, natural wood canvas and aluminium composite formats.
