Potentilla palustris (Marsh cinquefoil)

Potentilla palustris, commonly known as marsh cinquefoil, is a clump-forming perennial with dark green, trifoliate leaves and upright stems forming dense foliage. In summer it produces small, star-shaped deep pink to reddish-purple flowers, creating a vibrant display in wet soils and along pond margins.

This species is valuable for pollinators and wetland biodiversity, providing nectar and shelter for insects. Its upright, clump-forming habit and preference for consistently moist or shallowly submerged soil make it ideal for pond edges, wet meadows, and naturalistic water gardens.
