The Williams FW11 was one of the most powerful and successful Formula 1 cars of the 1980s. Built for the 1986 and 1987 seasons, it carried the iconic Canon and Honda sponsorship livery, combining sleek aerodynamics with Honda’s fearsome turbocharged V6 engine. Designed by Patrick Head and Frank Dernie, the FW11 delivered a perfect balance of speed, handling, and durability, making it a true frontrunner of its era.
Driven by racing greats Nigel Mansell, Nelson Piquet, and Keke Rosberg, the FW11 battled fiercely against rivals such as McLaren, Ferrari, and Lotus in some of the most dramatic seasons in Formula 1 history. The car secured multiple Grand Prix victories and two Constructors’ Championships, while Piquet clinched the 1987 World Drivers’ Championship in the updated FW11B.
With its striking livery, legendary drivers, and turbocharged dominance, the Williams FW11 remains a symbol of Formula 1’s golden age, celebrated for its engineering brilliance, intense rivalries, and unforgettable racing moments.
